 1) Stadt in Arizona, USA, im nordwestlichen Vorstadtbereich von Phoenix, 38 100 Einwohner. Ab 1960 als Wohnstadt für ältere und alte Menschen erbaut, mit Bungalows sowie vielen Golfplätzen, Sport- und Hobbyzentren. Daneben entstand in jüngster Zeit Sun City West (1980: 3 800, 1990: 16 000 Einwohner).
 
 2) Ferienzentrum in der Provinz Nord-West, Republik Südafrika, 1979 eröffnet; Spielcasino. Sun City liegt nördlich von Rustenburg in hügeliger Buschsavanne; in der Nähe der Nationalpark Pilanesberg (55 000 ha).
